Hi, I'm Kim!
Mum and Educator
I’m an adult education specialist by trade - but also a mother who, like many of you, had to learn everything from scratch after having my child later in life. When my son was born, I realised that despite my years of experience training adults, parenting was a whole new world. So, I enrolled in a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care - not just to upskill professionally, but to grow as a mother who wanted to be truly present, informed and supportive.Like many modern parents, I strive to practice conscious parenting. But let’s be honest - it’s incredibly hard when your main job is... well, your job. That’s why I’ve redirected my life and career to support other families like mine. I want to offer a safe, warm and developmentally rich environment for children while their parents work hard to provide. At Safe Haven, I focus on what I believe truly matters:- STEM learning and foundation skills that build lifelong capabilities
- Reading readiness, so children aren’t starting school already behind
- Workplace and life skills that foster independence and confidence
- Emergency preparedness and emotional self-regulation, including breathwork and mindfulness
- And above all, a consistent routine with uninterrupted and restorative sleep. As a qualified Trainer and Assessor, I deliver Certificate I and II in Workplace Skills - and yes, even children as young as 8 can start to grasp and apply these concepts when taught in an engaging, age-appropriate way.But my story isn’t just professional - it’s deeply personal. I grew up as a refugee child. My parents, with no English and no access to formal childcare, worked long hours in sewing factories. I often slept in cardboard boxes under piles of fabric. It was far from ideal, but they did what they had to do.Today, I want to be the safe haven that families like mine never had - a place where children are not just supervised, but supported, nurtured and truly seen.So if you’re a parent working night shifts, juggling responsibilities, or simply looking for a trusted hand - I’m here for you.Your work matters.
And so does your child’s wellbeing, growth and joy.Let’s raise capable, kind, and confident young people - together.
